Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 15, 2026

Last updated: April 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Don’t Call Me Inc., operating in English as Don’t Call Me and in French as StopAppel, collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information in connection with its service.

In this Privacy Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Don’t Call Me Inc. “You” and “your” mean a customer, prospective customer, website visitor, or other individual who provides personal information to us.

We use one national privacy and consent standard for customers across Canada. All customers receive the same substantive customer-facing text in English and French. For customers in Quebec, the French version prevails if there is any inconsistency between the English and French versions. For customers in the other provinces and territories, the English version prevails if there is any inconsistency between the English and French versions.

1. What our service does

Don’t Call Me Inc. provides a paid administrative agent service for Canadian consumers who want help submitting do-not-call, consent-withdrawal, and internal suppression requests to selected organizations and companies. To provide this service, we need to collect and use limited personal information about you and your telephone number.

We are not a law firm, paralegal service, legal representative, regulator, enforcement agency, government service, or complaint-handling service. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It does not change the limits of our service.

2. Personal information we collect

We collect only the personal information reasonably needed to provide and administer the service. This may include your name, telephone number, email address, postal code, payment confirmation information, service records, internal customer reference codes, verification identifiers, authorization tokens or other non-secret technical identifiers, request history, call-report information you choose to provide, and any other information you choose to provide.

If you report a call, we may collect the organization or company name, caller number, date and time of the call, and any notes or details you choose to provide. If you tell us which organizations or companies are particularly bothersome to you, we may use that information to improve or update our operational list. We do not guarantee that any specific organization or company will be added, contacted, prioritized, investigated, or handled individually.

If you contact us by mail or otherwise provide a mailing address, we may use that address to respond to you, verify your request, maintain service records, or administer the service.

3. Payment information

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Wix Payments or other payment processors we use. We may receive and retain payment confirmation information, transaction details, payment status, refund or chargeback records, and related administrative information. We do not intend to store full payment card numbers ourselves.

Payment processors may collect and process billing, payment, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under their own systems, security controls, and legal obligations. Your use of the payment process may also be subject to the payment provider’s terms and privacy practices.

4. Website, technical information, and authorization identifiers

When you visit our website or use our online forms, we or our service providers may collect technical information such as device information, browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from technical data, pages visited, form activity, security logs, cookies, and similar website usage information.

We may use this information to operate the website, maintain security, prevent fraud or misuse, troubleshoot technical issues, understand basic website performance, and improve the service. We may also generate internal customer reference codes, verification identifiers, authorization tokens, or other non-secret technical identifiers to help administer the service, maintain records, authenticate or verify service-related requests, connect customer records with requests submitted on your behalf, and demonstrate that Don’t Call Me Inc. is acting under a customer authorization.

Customer reference codes, verification identifiers, authorization tokens, and other non-secret technical identifiers are internal and customer-facing administrative tools. We do not disclose these identifiers to selected organizations or companies for matching. The information used for organization matching is limited to your name, telephone number, and postal code, unless you separately provide different information through a report or other process. We do not intend to disclose passwords, payment card numbers, or secret account-access credentials to those organizations or bodies.

You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings, although some website functions may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

5. How we use personal information

We may collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information, including your name, telephone number, email address, postal code, and related service records, to provide, administer, support, protect, document, and improve the service. This includes submitting do-not-call, consent-withdrawal, and internal suppression requests; completing National Do Not Call List registration where applicable as part of service administration; helping organizations and companies identify your name, telephone number, and postal code in their records; asking organizations and companies to add your name and telephone number to their internal do-not-call, suppression, consent-withdrawal, or equivalent exclusion lists; keeping records of requests submitted; handling limited customer reports; communicating with you about the service, including implementation timing; preventing fraud, misuse, or security issues; and managing payment confirmation, records, tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, and operational obligations.

Processing begins shortly after purchase or activation. It may take up to 21 days from purchase or activation for coverage to take effect because receiving organizations and companies may need time to update their records. Where National Do Not Call List registration is submitted as part of the service, it may take up to 31 days from registration for National Do Not Call List protection to become effective.

We may also use customer information to assess operational patterns, update our organization and company coverage, improve our forms and workflows, and support compliance, audit, security, or dispute-management needs.

6. When we disclose personal information

We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to provide, administer, document, support, protect, or improve the service. This may include disclosure of your name, telephone number, and postal code to selected organizations and companies that we reasonably believe have made, caused, facilitated, supported, received, processed, enabled, or operationally supported telephone solicitation, fundraising, renewal, retention, donor, customer, sales, win-back, upgrade, cross-sell, or similar outreach to Canadian consumer telephone numbers, or that we reasonably believe are planning, preparing, resuming, outsourcing, or likely to launch such activity within the next three years.

We may also disclose your name, telephone number, and postal code to those organizations’ and companies’ agents, vendors, call centres, fundraising agencies, telemarketing firms, or service providers where reasonably necessary for matching and processing. We may disclose relevant information to payment processors, hosting providers, email providers, contractors, freelancers, automation providers, and operational support providers where reasonably necessary to operate the service.

Where we reasonably consider it appropriate, we may disclose relevant personal information to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) or another appropriate body in connection with possible non-compliance, repeated calling, refusal to add names and/or telephone numbers to an internal do-not-call list, refusal to process suppression or consent-withdrawal requests, refusal to acknowledge Don’t Call Me Inc.’s authorization to act as a customer’s limited administrative agent, failure to honour suppression requests, or related operational issues.

We do not sell customer personal information. We do not share customer personal information for third-party marketing.

7. Service providers and processing outside Canada

We may use third-party service providers to operate, host, process payments for, communicate about, secure, and administer the service. Some service providers may process or store personal information outside Canada, including in the United States.

When we use service providers, we remain responsible for personal information under our control and use contractual, administrative, and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the service.

8. Customer communications

We may send electronic communications that are reasonably necessary or legally required to confirm, provide, administer, support, or complete your service, including communications about service implementation timing. These may include receipts, confirmations, administrative notices, service updates, security notices, legally required notices, changes to the service or terms, one post-activation service follow-up message, and one pre-expiry notice during the final three months of your service term. Where a message includes referral information or an option to purchase a new service term, it will include sender identification and a simple way to unsubscribe from future commercial messages. Unsubscribing from commercial or promotional messages does not stop required service, legal, security, or transaction messages.

We do not use your personal information for third-party marketing.

9. Consent and withdrawal of consent

By providing personal information to us, completing our intake or checkout process, authorizing us to act as your limited administrative agent, or otherwise using the service, you consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and in the consent language presented to you.

You may withdraw consent where legally and operationally possible. If you withdraw consent needed for us to provide the service, we may no longer be able to continue providing the service, and your service may end. Withdrawal of consent does not entitle you to a refund once processing has begun.

Withdrawal of consent applies to Don’t Call Me Inc.’s future collection, use, disclosure, and retention of your personal information, subject to legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security, chargeback, dispute, audit, operational, and recordkeeping requirements. It does not require Don’t Call Me Inc. to retrieve, delete, or withdraw information that has already been disclosed to organizations, companies, their agents or service providers, the CRTC, or another appropriate body before the withdrawal took effect.

10. Access, correction, withdrawal, and privacy requests

You may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, withdrawal of consent where legally and operationally possible, and information about how your personal information is handled.

Formal privacy requests may be made in writing by email or mail using the contact information below. We may update this contact information from time to time.

We are not required to accept or process formal privacy requests by telephone. General service reports or operational inquiries must be submitted through the website process, where available, and are not a substitute for formal privacy requests unless we provide another written process.

We may require reasonable information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records before processing a privacy request. We will respond to formal privacy requests within the time required by applicable law.

11. Retention

We retain service records for the three-year service term plus a reasonable post-expiry period for audit, dispute, tax, accounting, legal, chargeback, regulatory, and operational purposes.

Our working retention period for core service records is the three-year service term plus 24 months, unless a longer period is legally required or a specific issue remains active. After the applicable retention period, we will delete, de-identify, or anonymize personal information that is no longer reasonably required.

12. Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and volume of customer information. These safeguards may include access controls, account security measures, vendor controls, recordkeeping practices, and administrative safeguards designed to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, use, disclosure, loss, or misuse.

No online service, email system, payment system, or recordkeeping system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal information under our control.

13. Privacy and security incidents

We maintain records of privacy or security incidents, assess suspected incidents for legal notification obligations, and notify affected individuals and regulators where required.

If a privacy or security incident affects your personal information and applicable law requires notice to you, we will provide notice using the contact information reasonably available to us.

14. Minors and purchases for others

The service may be used by individuals who are able to understand and provide the required personal information, consent, and authorization for their own Canadian consumer telephone number, and who use a payment method they are authorized to use.

If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you must have any parent, legal guardian, tutor, or other legally authorized consent or permission required for you to provide the information, authorization, and consent needed for the service.

If you are under the age of majority in your province or territory, you must use a payment method that you are authorized to use and understand that the service involves a paid purchase, disclosure of your personal information to selected organizations and companies, and no refund once processing has begun except where required by law.

A parent, legal guardian, tutor, or other authorized person may purchase or arrange the service for another person, including a minor, parent, family member, or other individual, where they have the authority or consent required to provide that person’s information and authorization.

Gift certificates, prepaid service codes, or similar purchase options may be made available separately. If a gift certificate or prepaid code is purchased, we do not need the recipient’s service information until the service is redeemed or activated. The person redeeming or activating the service must provide the required consent and authorization, or must have the legal authority to do so for the recipient.

We may decline, suspend, or stop processing a request if we reasonably believe that the purchaser, requester, or person activating the service does not have the authority needed to provide the personal information, consent, or authorization.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a revised effective date or last-updated date. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice where appropriate or required.
